It covers a pretty big area w/ the only weakness being it's open at the top (fish bowl shape comes to mind) but it does stop all weapons.
EMP Mine
Looks like you can deploy three at one time and the EMP lasts about 15 seconds on the vehicle. You just have to get near the EMP mine to set it off and it has a pretty wide trigger area. BTW the EMP Mine will eject the player out of the vehicle too.
