PainTrain's Guide to being a good teammate!

    1) Auto Assign is there for a reason, use it! I can't count the number of times a new map will start and suddenly it's 20v9 because people want to play with their friends.

    2) Shoot down the helicopter! Normal weapons don't do as much damage as an RPG, but they still put a hurting on the heli, don't be afraid to unload a magazine into it!

    3) Please, please don't stop in the middle of a doorway - You can potentially clog traffic and get half your team killed with a well-placed nade or M203!

    4) Use the VoIP! Cain's Lair has good quality VoIP settings, so help your teammates out by telling them the location of enemies or ask for a UAV so you can lay down the law with and airstrike!

Also, please don't use me for bait! Or if you must, at *least* kill the guy who got me

#4 is very useful in conjunction with the Chopper to, if you have your UAV active the chopper will actively seek out enemies

I hate #3 with a passion. Like you stated, it takes one nade and your all dead. It happens to me so often.

MG + DT = Chopper killer

And blocking doorways OMG !!! don't even get me started... Lastnight I got killed 3 times in a row because I would be running into a building while being shot at and the same moron was camping in each doorway blocking me and I would get killed. Not to mention that on bloc people keep laying prone in the hall ways. ARGH !!! PLEASE !! Do not shoot in doorways.... find a damn window.

            Pain Train,

Excellent post. I follow this list to the letter.

I have never yelled during a game, but when people block the doorways in this game I have gotten seriously ticked

There is no place for me to camp in this game. I'll go make sure all the enemy's have room in there hallways!

Everyone should take notice of the Helo's though. I myself get in the habit of assuming my teammates will take care of it. I can assure you they rarely do, and It kills me every time! Swat those things out of the sky!!!!

How is the VOIP in Cain's server? I usually don't use voice because of all the BS that is going on in them. When I was playing CoD/UO/2 we had a vent server but we kept out the rifraf..

People (I wont say only kids) get on the mic sometimes and just constantly spam chat that has no relevance at all.

You can not is on which side until you join anyway.
                          I always hit Auto-Assign.

I always choose Marines or Spetznas just because I like being able to always shoot at the same uniforms instead of waiting for the red or green curser. I am so old and senile that when the game auto balances I sometimes forget what uniform I'm wearing and don't kill the bad guys cause I think they're on my team.

It's been my experience that it is easier when you always go for a random team. You get in the habit of paying attention to what side you are on and what uniforms you need to shoot at. If you constantly try to get on the same team, of course you are going to get screwed up when you don't make it.
