I really like this game, but it is hard! I don't think I got a single kill in the first few rounds I played yesterday. I kinda miss prone, but not as much as I thought I would. Also, I don't understand the first engy unlock. The SCAR-L appears to have the exact same stats as the base gun. I like the unlock system. It makes it easier, especially with the number of unlocks that are in this game. It is kinda weird to me how they combined the classes to cull it down to 4. A medic with a LMG? Seems odd to me. Overall, I don't see nearly as much noobtubing as I did in BF2, which is definitely a good thing.

Anyway, enough with my random thoughts...

I seem to remember reading about other people having problems with ping, and that it was related to Win7 x64. Anybody know the fix?

Also, what kind of FPS is everyone getting? I am playing at 1600x900 with medium settings, and I only get 30-40 FPS. I definitely need to increase that...

Weapon stats - This is reference I've been using. The weapon progression steps aren't big. SCAR-L has a bigger magazine, but it's a bit worse in other areas.

Win7 x64 ping - I think that problem was that pings didn't display in the server browser. The first reported fix was to run as admin.

my frame rates with 4870X2 is around 45-55

This game 'cos of destruction 2 put very heavy load to the CPU , this is where despite Juenau's hate to quadcores actually i benefit of my i7 at 4.2GHz

Setting it to run as admin worked, but I have to approve every time I run the game, which is a pain.

I have a GTX275 OCed to 756, 1620, 1269. OCing didnt really make much difference, though.

The problem is probably my CPU. I have a E6600 OCed to 3.2GHz with 4GB of RAM running at 1066MHz.

I am going to try fiddling with the settings to see what will happen. Probably disabling MSAA and Aniso will help.

One other thing that I don't like is you can't call for a medic or ammo unless you point to a medic or assault.

You will hate this feature if you are a sniper. You have a good spot, a dumbo spawns on you, throws an ammo box, sit on box and starts cross-map-tubing. I go lonewolf and open a new squad, lock it. And get to my spot.

I'm running a GTX 275 as well and my res is 2048 x 1152. I tweaked my settings to get around 60 FPS. I will check what I have when I get home and let you know.

Yessh talk about anti social. Yes thats an annoying problem but, it's not as bad as the medic that spawns on you than just opens up randomly with a LMG.

I've found that if I got folks like that in my squad I pick a different squad and most of the time I have had success in getting in good squads. Hell I was in a four man sniper squad with Sopek last night. All of us in the hills rocking the enemy with arty...good times

What gets me is when you are playing the engy and you run down your tank, break out the wrench and start repairs.... and the tank takes off like a bat out of Cleveland gets wasted while you are running like mad trying to catch up.

I recognize that scenario! Just wanted to mention that the multi-tool "Q" key tells him that you want to fix his ride. - Not that he listens, but it works sometimes.

I would think that if you are a sniper you would want to either lone wolf it or set up an all-sniper squad...

No way. Besides sitting back and sniping a sniper can provide a close in support role. Arty and sensors are very useful as close in support. Even standing off a distance I have the enhanced scope that allows me to spot enemies onto my allies radar. This helps any offensive rush team. Hell I even rush with them.

I love charging the enemy firing my pistol until I'm close enough to stab them. I've done it a bunch of times with the pistol that firs a three round burst. Need a new class.... assault/recon

I was having some good times today with "Shotgun Recon". Take the shotty, the perk for shotty range and I think I was able to use magnum ammo too but not sure. Anyhow, get in a rush game and if you lose a base go to ground and let the attackers get past you. Pop a sensor and join the parade. Stab, stab, Ka-BLAMM!!

FYI D&G I came home last night and fired up my BC2 and my FPS had dropped into the teens??? I then upgraded my video drivers which brought my FPS back up to 60.
