    Long load time between games.

I have noticed that whenever I rejoin a server between rounds that the game is well under way. It seems like it takes forever for the bottom tight hand side of the screen to change from loading to join. In game people who's pings are similar seem to get in quicker so I was wondering if there were something else that could cause this.

Do you have an ATI video card there are loading issues with the 4xxxx series ,and older cards that werent fixed by the 10.4 drivers that came out last week, I have a 4870 and I still have long load times.

The ATi card owners had this issue a patch ago. Maybe the SLI 470's drivers are still underdeveloped.

Hmmmm you may be on to something, theses drivers are a defiantly still wet behind the ears. I will check the EVGA forum sometime later.

GTX 470 SLI impressions (now updated to be less useless) - Ars Technica OpenForum

it looks like you were on to something and forcing DX10 in the game should fix the problem.

I have slow loading times too. I was thinking is either DX11 related or because i forced 32MSAA & 16AF which i guess have huge textures...

This thread at the EVGA forums had a good discussion about this issue. It looks like it can be fixed with a driver update. I also read that there will be a start timer in a future patch to BC2.

Well I went ahead and forced DX10, brought my CPU OC back to 3.4 and cranked up my POV to 90. I ran around the empty server for a few minutes and I could barely notice the difference between DX10 and DX11 so I'm all set up until I get around to OCing my GPUs.

All those changes led to an amazing night of gaming. I hope that the Nvidia drivers will mature and get rid of the annoying lag on the map load times in DX11.

How do you force DX11? I don't think I have this issue but wanted to try this and compare the difference.

Possibly in the properties of the .exe? Like the widescreen edits for BF2/2142. Haven't looked into this, just guessing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem. I have two 4850s in Xfire. Just like Duke said, seems like everyone is many seconds ahead when I finally join.

Duke, what is the exact line change that needs to be made--what should it look like?

                              Thanks,
