    Network monitoring software

Need some advice here on a piece of diagnostic software. What i'm after is a app that can sit in the background and monitor my connection. Not necessarily my speeds, bandwidth usage, but pings, problems etc.

My connection is periodically dying every few hours, even though my modem is sync to my ISP's network and ready for use. Reboot my modem and it's back working again. So i want to try and find out exactly what happens.

    Does any such software exist?

hm i know netlimiter, not used it for a while...
can current processes, and you get a lil graph of activity on the network...
    might help...

but i would not use it for long periods, it caused issues on one of my laptops where it would BSOD with connection troubles on the TCP stack...

anyway, netlimiters lil graphs might give you an idea of whats accessing the network at the time...

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

Try PingPlotter, the full version is free for 30 days.

Yea i need something that i can run for 24hours straight or more. I just need something that'll give me hint as to what is happening.

Will take a look at pingplotter.

ping plotter is good for ping, but it almost sounds like you want a program like wireshark (freeware):

I'm talking about everything Darth. I'm having major problems with my ISP's network. Just want some backup data to prove that it's not my PC/Firewall/Virus.

I'm actually in contact with a guy who works for my ISP and i just recieved a shocking private message from him over on cableforum.co.uk

The odd thing is I can not find your modem on the network, I'm ex-telewest, though I should be able to access your modem with the tools we have. I'll give it another go and if I have no luck I'll see if I can get hold of someone from ex-ntl to take a look.
