Were they planning on putting VOIP back in or no? I haven't read really anything on the subject for BF3...

I once commented on youtube on a BC2 video that "You only want me to spot people so you can steal my kill!" and I got pages upon pages of people calling me horrible names!

Heh, I had no idea they even had spotting aside from lining up my crosshairs on a guy. I'm having enough trouble, when I DO play, just trying to figure out how to move with WASD. I've been remapping 1 step right for every game I've ever played on the PC.

Have you ever tried a gamepad like the G13?

I have been using gamepads for years, starting with the Belkin N52. I have trouble using a regular KB when playing an FPS now. I am using the G13 now, and it is awesome. You map the keys for each game however you want them, and the profile loads automatically when the game starts. It also has default profiles for a ton of games already, so you can just tweak the existing profile instead of needing to create one from scratch.

No, but it's not the controller/keyboard, it's something with the Beta's code. Remapping doesn't work. After about the third key it locks up and you can't do anything.

Yes. Doesn't work in the beta.

Remapping on a gamepad is done outside the game, so to the game you are using the generic keys. you map key Gx to A, Gy to S, etc. Then when you push Gx it transmits A to the game.

Thats why I would think the mouse would work for remapping.. since you can map outside the game.
I guess I should try it now.

I'm guilty of not doing that. I play Support almost exclusively and most times I'm trying to get to the M-COM I forget to put down an ammo pack, even when people are screaming at me in text chat (because I don't read text chat)

Well it is not like they make it easy anyway. Whenever you hit the key bind for ammo/med it just auto deploys them!!! So aggravating. They should allow you to place it where you want, not just auto deploy. Man DICE really messed up on so many things they should have never changed.

I mapped my G500 using the Setpoint software. I assigned the quick knife (F)to the forward thumb button, primary weapon (1) to the aft thumb button and pressing the mouse wheel tosses the grenade (G).

The trick was to allow setopint to launch that profile with the launch of Origin.

If you use the scroll wheel on your mouse you can select the ammo pack and run with it and place it where you want. Hitting the 3 button is like a hot key that just throws the pack and switches right back to your previously selected weapon/gadget.
