    Looking for a Computer Case

A friend of mine is looking for a case for his computer. He is going to purchase this motherboard:

    http://3btech.net/ascrexgaam2m.html

He already has dual 512 video cards and a 400 watt power supply and 4 gigs of memory. Already got a liquid cooling system and AMD Dual Core 2.6 ghz processor.

    Here's The Deal:

He comes over to my shop alot and we have a lan party or a few of us get together and game a bit. What he wants is a case that is big enough to fit all his components, but something that is easy to carry. He is damned dead set on getting a case with a handle on it, and sturdy. What he does NOT want is some fancy crap like the one he has here:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...+Computer+Case

....which looked nice, but SUCKED if you carry it out .. to the vehicle...and in to the lan party and back.

Does anyone have any ideas? He doesn't want to spend a WHOLE TON of money, but price is not really all that much of a concern, since it is going to be a GOOD LOOKING, DURABLE case with a handle on it so that it can be easily carried.

Thanks for any tips or leads you may have!

he uses water cooling and he wants to carry it around? I don't think i could or would recommend any case for that.

Well, I mean it just like a regular radiator. You drive your car around, right? I'll take some photos so you can see what I'm talking about.

It is not like he has a sprinkler system in there or anything like that.

how is he getting away with running all that gear on a 400w PSU LOL...if I were him I'd get a stronger PSU when he gets new board

He's better of going with something like this:

            http://www.xoxide.com/ca.html

Cases that sport full size mobos and a handle are very rare. This way he can get whatever case he wants. The only cases you are going to find with handles are ones that fit Micro atx mobos.

If the case really has to have a handle this would be the only one I'd recommend:

LOL! Well once we run across a case he likes, we are going to see about getting them to ship a PSU with it for extra charge of course....

OK... These images are rather large but I'll reduce or remove it later. Anyway here is one.. the others are links only.

Good news about the new power supply. That Apevia is a ticking time bomb.

What do you mean? The "OLD" PSU is going to be replaced... in the meantime, it is still ticking.

I can't help but snicker when I read this one .. he wants a carry along water cooled case thats going to be heavy enough to knock down doors for the local SWAT team .. most excellent !!

Its just not a practical request to even offer up a suggestion. I'll excuse myself from this one and hope we don't get a follow-up thread on the dangers of carrying a gaming rig filled with liquid from point A to point B.

Gotta agree with DG on the Apevia .... its not a POWmax, or a Raidmax, but its not what I'd run good hardware on.

A light aluminium case with a LAN strap is what you need. I suggest you look at the Lian Li range. Their cases are sooooooo light.

It's what the guy wants... I told him the same thing, but he insists that he has seen them before... but the PC isn't that heavy as it is, to him. Well I'mean he can bench press 450 10 times so I guess I don't see what he sees to be lite or heavy.

I've already told him he probably wasn't going to find what he was looking for.. but he has seen the case he mentions, but forgot the link about 6 months ago.

This is the old PSU that shipped with the pc when he ordered it. Once we find the case, possibly there will be negotiations of adding a PSU from whichever vendor he gets the case from.
