    Claymores

I have just unlocked them. Seems like flood has been the only map worth using or very specific attack pattern places.
    Anyone else have any luck?

    Zavod should work.
I've started trying to use more claymores. I think DICE nerfed mortar accuracy.

The flag cap area is so much larger than BF2 that using Claymores to protect flags is hit or miss. They work better if you use them to cover doorways, elevator doors or the top of ladders.

Dice nerfed just about everything that worked well and was balanced in prior games. It's only the new things that aren't nerfed, and the irony is the biggest thing that NEEDS to be nerfed is the RCB. That thing is an absolute beast, a good boatsman will rip apart the other team if they have a good squad helping out. Just went 21-0 on Paracel driving one around solely to hunt down other boats. It's fun as all hell, but it's insanely, massively overpowered.

If it was just equally boat to boat combat that means the other people sucked.

I use them everywhere. Basically use them in high traffic areas where they are not directly visible.

Rand, can you explain to me how people go 50+ - 4 just playing infantry and not sniping?

Now I am not the greatest player in the world. I usually average a 1 to 1 k/d ratio and top 10 in score but these people are obliterating me.

Everyone has good and bad rounds, and we always want to give folks a benefit of a doubt before accusing them of anything, so they may have just come into one of their better rounds at the right time. Also, some weapons will be better than others, and people may get lucky on their netcode and end up with a good round. Playing a little conservatively and not charging headlong in helps people out too. Not me--I like to rush into things when I'm on foot. Lots of CLRs are the same, so we're usually not the 50 and 4 guys.

I do better in a good squad than alone or in an uncooperative squad. Last night for example, my first map I did horrible and was in 29th place. The next two maps I was in a good squad, only two of whom were CLR's, and made 2nd place at the end of both.

Watch your minimap. Nobody looks at that thing on my team it seems. Get a good squad that will revive you. And be good. Mostly, be good.

Yeah I do my best to keep an eye on the minimap. I wish I could move it to a different location on the HUD though.

I assume a revive doesn't go against your total deaths then? If that's the case it makes sense people having less than 10 or so deaths per match.

Revives don't count as deaths. Vehicles with good users will always rack up decent amount of kills. But as solely infantry, you'd need to 1) be good 2) have amazing aim and reaction times 3) have a good squad to back you up.

Honestly, if ammo were infinite, you'd have no problem... but after 4 kills, ammo starts to become more and more of an issue. Especially on non-support classes, especially engineer since vehicles are a bit harder to kill considering how easy it is with C4 or other vehicles.

They need to buff the Javellin and other lock-on weapons. SRAW isn't terrible, but the SMAW and Stinger are just insanely easy to use whilst also being able to hit harder. Meanwhile lock-on weapons are pretty much worthless considering the time invested per shot. Javellin - 3+ seconds to hit for 25%... easily negated by the fact you'll get sniped or killed in those 3s holding the lock-on. Same with the IL AA launcher.

DICE needs to balance the trade-offs with launchers etc.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, wigz. I'm still a rookie when it comes to this game. Any help or knowledge is appreciated.

I agree with the issues with the Javelin and the IGLA. Everytime I try to use them I die trying to keep the lock on. That's why I always run with the Stinger and M2 SLAMs so I have both air and land covered.

The Stinger is a pretty cheap weapon. Yeah, I usually lose the first missile to chaff but the next two I launch are going to hit and usually by that time the pilot is smart enough to bail if he doesn't have an engineer to repair him. I've also been able to get helicopter kills with the M2 SLAMs. Stick a few of those on high places on buildings near capture points and I'm almost guaranteed a multi-kill. Same goes with land vehicles at choke points near captures. If you know where to stick those mines it almost a cheap kill.
