    looks really cool!

    possible solution to energy crisis?

Sounds like a very cool idea. Hopefully this guy is on to something.

hey i tried somthing similar to that as a science project.
I created a copper battery and boiled some salted water. The battery
wasnt enough to light up something, but i used headphones to "hear" the energy (I cant remember how I was able to hear it, I was in 5th grade)

Err edit, well i cant really say this is very similiar to my little report, but just reminded me

Great idea! But one thing. What if someone accidentaly uses those radio waves on the big ol' Pacific ocean. That would be scary.

          That is amazing.

I've seen it before, and I checked this one out... the problem with it is that the radio energy used is greater than than the energy produced.

That would be Desalination, which probably would be impossible to accomplish on the world's largest body of water.

They don't show the energy graphs of input vs output energy, so who knows?

I can see where it might be used for boats/ships, as a ready made fuel source would be constantly available. IF the energy gains were more than the input.

Funny, the US Gvt is helping funding alt fuel made from Corn. The problem is that it cost MORE to make it than it does to process oil. Energy output is far below oil/gasoline. So it is More expensive and Less efficient than gasoline. If you took ALL the corn grown in the USA, and processed it into fuel, it still would fall far short of the energy requirements just in the USA. Right now less than 10% of fuel is made from corn, but it is using a HUGE amount of corn that is grown. Another case of nice idea, bad in RL.

Salt water turbines powered by radio waves? Show me the input/output numbers.

Dead_And_Gone, you're absolutely right. While this may be a neat new discovery, the practical application is far from in sight. Would be very cool if it were the case that this generates more energy then it takes to stimulate it using radio waves, though at this point it seems pretty doubtful.

As for corn, yeah, it may cost more, and perform to a lesser degree of desirability than fossil fuels, but at least its renewable. Its by no means the silver bullet the energy industry is looking for though. Still waiting for that breakthrough...could be interesting though if this method of salt water stimulation turns out to be a cheaper way of creating pure hydrogen, as cost is currently the biggest hurtle still for that energy source to take off.
