      Open
      C:\Documents and Settings\[your name]\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Global.con
in notepad or another text editor.

      change this line
      GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix ""
      to
      GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "{CLR}"

      and that will stick

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

No its just adding a tag to ur name...u can do it in game but BF2 does not allow you to use non alphabetic characters so thats why u need to do it in file so u can have the " { }"

IN Windows Vista your Global.con file is located in a different location:

                C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Global.con

There you can do the same thing.

Thanks to Sirex for the info.
