I was in free-look spectate...

I zoomed all the way above the map and saw a peice of land off the map.

Im not sure what it is... But here are some screenies

Unreachable church off the landmass (disappears when you get a certain distance away)


And...Directly under the land-mass?



Anyone know what this is??

I saw a lot of this in my CSS days, its like a mini map, some admins spawn players there to knife fight or just to change the game up a bit. It is also the sky-box which gives the map your playing on a distance landscape look...

Yes, this is what is called a 3d skybox.

It is essentially what is used to make the map look huge. When you are making a map, when you are done you build up scenery around the map to make it look like it continues on, then you cut that portion out and scale it down to 1/16th of the original size. Then they place a skybox cam at the 0,0,0 cordinates of the map and it lines it up.

This saves your computer from rendering everything and makes it look like your not it a box

It is alot more complicated than that but that is pretty much it.
