    Somethings wrong...

This game is running really kinda bad for me.

    max settings,
8800 gtx, e6600 dual core, 2 gig ram

It's fast fps and then sometimes it just really lags for like half a second and back to normal fps.

I was tryin to play it for about a half hour but I have this really bad eye strain from it now,

Electrical Gremlins. Lots of water will fix it.

Are you running that latest nvidia drivers? The past few have contained a lot of fixes for Bioshock etc, and with this running on the same engine it might be a worthwhile shot.

Some random pauses can also be caused by background processes. Are you leaving any anti virus or spyware scanners running?

Hey at least it's semi-enjoyable for you. My graphics are EXTREMELY fuzzy beyond recognition and I have no idea what is ailing me. So I've stopped playing I'll look into it more this weekend after the big pirate showdown

things off the top of my head:

            1) non-critical memory errors (have you overclocked)?

            2) unstable overclock

            3) CPU/GPU overheating, and scaling back

            4) does the PSU meet power demands on your system

            5) anti-virus software

Also, do you defrag often? Do you have at least 2gb RAM? It seems to me that these brief pause are caused by HDD activity.

                    1) non-critical memory errors (have you overclocked)?

I had a wonderful overclocking experience here: http://dark4se.com/cainslairforums/v...ic.php?t=22353

Needless to say I'm never going to do it again lol

                    2) unstable overclock

                    No.

                    3) CPU/GPU overheating, and scaling back

                    No

                    4) does the PSU meet power demands on your system

                    Yes, I built it
                    5) anti-virus software

                    Its clean

I'll try a defrag later but it makes no sense why this is the only game lagging

I'm not sure why it kills your system.

itunes connects to the store regularly and collects information about your system. No wonder why it causes lag.
In addition it installs some system tasks for only Apple knows why. Even when you don't run itunes itself your system will still be crippled.

                              iTunes is the devil.

UT3 will probably squeeze every last ounce of performance your machine can deliver, so its no wonder you'd have problems when another bloated program is running at the same time.
