    strange, atleast to me

I was just messing around today, and typing names of websites into the URL box, but with no .com at the end. So, I started with google, just google.
It brought me to a google search of the word "google". I found that funny. Then I tried ebay, thinking that maybe it would be a google search of "ebay", but it brought me straight to ebay. I tried this with all sorts of sites, including cainslair, gmail, and many others. It worked on all of them.

So, is this new, or have I just never tried it before?

yeah, some browsers are uber like that, and they take you to either the first site that comes up. (EX. you put in myspace, they try mypspace.com, myspace.org, etc.) and take you to myspace.com or they look in your history with sites that have that word in the url, (Ex. you type in yahoo, they find www.yahoo.com in ur history and take you there)

The reason google does it is cause it has so many extensions it shows them all to you in the search.
