What do you use for sound on your computer? (onboard, PCI card, USB, etc.)

I have always liked Sennheiser. The one you link has 2 3.5mm connectors, so it would use your current sound card.

The G930 is supposed to be a great headset. It has its own USB sound device, so if you have a good soundcard like an X-Fi or something it will become useless.

Bought in 2007 and still going strong.

I like that so much, i'm totally sticking with that product line.

I only have a normal on-board sound card (from an Asus P6T Deluxe). Nothing fancy.

So my guess is that I would benefit more from the G930 then...

I'm using the wireless G930 and really like it. Nice to be able to get up walk to the fridge and grab a cold beer. The sound is just amazing IMHO.

I also have the G930 and like it. The headphones charge off a USB cable. They hold a 10 hour charge and the battery is replaceable. If the charge is low you can plug it into the PC via the USB cable and it'll work. Since I don't leave my gaming system on but, I leave my Linux server running whenever I'm done playing I just plug them into the my Linux box to charge. One thing I've noticed is the USB type B jack is an extremely tight fit. Other than that they're very comfortable and sound good. I know there are two modes of sound. I tend to leave it on the Dolby setting and haven't really played with the other. One thing that annoy's me is there is no way to bind a key for push to talk on the headset. So when I go upstairs to get a beer I can't respond to all of Skuds insults

Mapes I agree, I wish there was a PTT button on the headset. I wonder if someone made a custom profile that can do that.

This bothers me too, when if I'm up for more then a few minutes I turn on the hot mic so I can talk if needed, what's nice about this headset is that the mic mutes when folded back so you don't have to worry about any unwanted sounds getting through with the hot mic on.

Just did a quick google and it looks like logitech has something for the g930 that will do PTT for vent..... (cue wha wha whaaa noise)

Is the weight of this thing ok? ~1kg seems a little heavy to me.

I don't have a problem with he weight but I wear David Clarks all day.

I haven't noticed the weight of the headset at all. The earcups and head band are very comfy
