    Happy Independence Day!

Here's wishing everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July, our Independence Day! Part of my day is being spent by watching parts of the "John Adams" documentary by Tom Hanks and HBO films. An excellent reminder of important parts of how our nation was declared to be independent from Britain and the war to make it so. Later today I will be grilling flank steak and corn on the cob.

The flack steak sounds great. No time for me to watch anything though, packing for DFW.

I have my chicken in the fridge with a rub. I will be barbecuing it tonight. I have Boston Baked Beans cooking in the oven and deviled eggs in the fridge. Baked Sweet Potatoes will be served too.
I hope everyone is enjoying the day.

This is one holiday I was never around for and still isn't. Either I was at a camp as a kid or working. Now I am still working.

Our nice Spring is over. Be ready for hot and humid (still not yet over 100 degrees though).

Wait 'til you are old like Apache and Cain and I. Plenty of time to celebrate.

Hosted a bunch of Peace Corps folks at our house. They were fresh off the plane, no real idea what they were even going to be doing. I feel like I did some good helping them enjoy themselves before their training. And by enjoy I mean getting as many of them drunk as possible.

                        happy 4th.

I watched fireworks on TV. I can't shoot any at my place because I am in a town-home complex that are so close together. Safety hazard.

However, I did buy some hot pre-cooked barbecue ribs yesterday and the pre-applied sauce was great.
