battlefield problem

the 2142 forum is very quiet so thought i might ask here lol, i reinstalled 2142 today after months of it being off the comp. the install went fine but wen i try startin i up the loading logo comes up (the small one only coverin part of the screen) then the screen goes black then changed shade to a color that looks like the monitor is off then goes to black and flickes every few seconds afew times then stays black. after waiting for awhile its still the same pressing esc doesnt help either so i dont think its the startin movie messing up.
i was able to run 2142 fine in the summer
any help would be great thanks
