    Loading problem

Hey all, it seems that I am having an issue that some of you have had before. When I play 2142, regardless of whether it is single player or online, the maps load halfway and then BF becomes unresponsive. NOW BEFORE anyone refers me to the sticky, I already tried it, and I couldn't find the file that it told me to force re-create or whatever. No matter how I tried, I couldnt find radial.cdb. I even un-installed and re-installed BF, and it's still not working. Does anyone have any suggestions?

(edit) and yes, I went into control panel and made it so I could view the file, before anyone asks.

Ensure system files are not protected.

Force creation of new radial.cdb file
Path to: My Computer > C-Drive > Program Files > Electronic Arts > Battlefield 2142
Look for radial.cdb and rename it; i.e. oradial.cdb.

Re-check, Hide protected operating system files, and restart the game.

I've had the problem when in game nothing works. I just had to go into controls and reset them back to factory default.

also if your going to do an un/reinstall to solve a problem. i recommend deleting C:\Documents and Settings\David\My Documents\Battlefield 2142
          also, delete C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142

bad news. i didn't have the radial.cdb either. mine turned out to be a bad video driver installation.

i'm sure in darth's case he did a driver reinstall.

there is another way to delete radial.cdb:

                Command window:

cd C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 or wherever your BF folder is
                del /a:sh radial.cdb

I am pretty computer illiterate, so could you kinda walk me through this? I have the command window up, but I can't figure out how to do what you told me to do.

I did try deleting the file like that, and I think I did it right, but it says it couldnt find that file.

i apologize, all the things i gave you would apply to windows XP. i'm not sure what does or doesn't apply for vista, i'm not qualified to support it. perhaps one of the guys here that use vista could walk you through the routine.
