Windows XP outshines Vista in benchmarking test

    http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9590_22-6220201.html

    It's a downright butt-whooping.

Won't be "upgrading" any time soon.

"Frankly, the world wasn't 100 percent ready for Windows Vista," corporate vice president Mike Sievert said
Hehe, know I think its the other way about, it was not quite world ready when they released it, and hoped no one would notice.

SysInternals (Now part of the MS team since before vista) have tonnes of complaints about Vista, and this is an MS owned company, who code for MS and assist MS...

If they are complaining it means something!

I would say Vista wasn't ready for the World (tm).

I'm using Vista for a months time now. Have to say: There is NO real reason to switch. Everything is slower than under XP. - Eye Candy and DX10 don't coun't for me.

Not only that, but it's basically been proven time and time again that a majority of the "DX10" effects can be accomplished in DX9 with a minimal performance hit.

More and more, Vista is looking like ME2 (without quite as many BSODs ).

acutally waiting on ms announcing a new windows mobile/embedded os, thats all 'pimped' out gfx wise, and watch palm reclaim the market

Personally an os, it can do all the fancy stuff it wants, if it fails to fit my day to day needs, forget it no sale.

DX10 so far so crysis anyways is worthless, because even with my GTX and e6600, I can't even run any settings at ultra high which means no DX10 anyway!!

DX10 is why I bought this thing.

SP3 is coming for XP and it looks promising, better than Vista's service pack

Lol, they've been talking about SP3 since like 2005. I know that they say it will be coming out, but I'll believe it when MS actually announces a specific date and doesn't keep pushing it back.

                          However, Vista does blow ass

I personally don't care about some meaningless (to me) benchmarks and really enjoy my Vista x64 experience with 0 complains about anything :P All the games that I care about run fine under it, with an acceptable (to me) performance, same goes for other applications.
