Any recommendations for a budget i5 heatsink ?

Big problem is there is very few aftermarket coolers for the 1156 socket (i5). Its a new chip so it will take some time.

        Maybe try Frozen CPU
But im not to impressed with selections. And depending on your board layout and your case you may need a downfacing fan to cool mobo.

Very nice suggestion on the Corsair unit, and if >> I << was building, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but at almost $90, that kills the budget.

I knew that the i5 coolers weren't out in force yet, but its going to be very difficult indeed to find a good budget i5 cooler.

Geez, I miss the days of the $17 Arctic Cooler Freezer Pro 7 or the $2 after rebate CoolerMaster Hyper TX 2.

I own both and those things were just fantastic for a bang for the buck setup. Juneau didn't think they were good for OC'ing past 3 ghz, but I ran both well over 3 ghz on both AMD and Intel CPUs.

Edit: Wellll, looky here what I found !! http://www.frozencpu.com/products/97...tl=g40c14s1037
