It's best to wipe it all and start fresh good luck with all the installations.

yeah, i had a total of 3 250 GB drives, used one of the empty ones to install. The code they gave me with the 3 machine upgrade pack was/is invalid. I had to spend about an hour on the phone with microsoft in order to get another one. ill have to do the same when i go and upgrade the 2nd rig.

But did things like put in dust filters( wait till you see the pic of my cpu cooler) blew out any and all dust bunnies. i love having a new clean machine,, they run so quiet. Im not the biggest fan on win7 yet, but that is just because i spent like the last 10 years on XP, nothing looks right, different menus etc.

Only complaints are things like, i cant run my monitor @ 60 hz anymore. Shouldnt be a big deal except the small tv i have on desk next to monitor is 60 hz.. putting screen with different refresh rates next to each other causes bizarre, almost unnoticeable "shaking". if i turn the tv off, its fine.

good luck...and I am pretty confident you will come around to Win7. I too used XP well past the recommended upgrade cycle (as did most folks here) and have come to appreciate the stability of Win7.

          BTW...try out GodMode it's awesome.

Sounds great! Let me know what you think of the CPU when you get some games in and such. I've got a 1090T and love it (always had AMD).

You're running XP...... Usually it's the hardware holding the software back.
