    Also, I don't know if this matters, but I'd pick a different name for my new games directory. Steam doesn't care, but Windows might automatically complicate things due to using a reserved folder name.
    I couldnt find anything interfering with steam so Im just gonna give this a rest. Its taking away from my gaming time and thats unacceptable. lol.

        lol. Ill probably just back up my files on the second hard drive as well as a thumb drive. Multiple redundancies.

          I installed Steam on my second HDD with no issues using the same directory structure. Did you already have it installed on your main drive?

            I did but then uninstalled and tried to do what was recommended previously in this post but still got the same error message. I heard that the difference isnt really noticable unless you have a solid state drive or something like that.

              unless you are running low on HDD space on your main drive, I wouldn't worry about it and just install on the main drive.
