Is the hurricane slowing down any?

Somewhat, until it gets just north of North Carolina and can pick up more energy when it is back over the water heading NE. Last I heard on the news winds were at 85MPH, expected to shoot back up to 120+MPH once it get some more energy.

That's about it for me.
I highly suggest getting a small camping stove(and fuel of course), lots of extra water, some freeze dried foods and of course any regular food stuffs you can manage to save/store. Plus a place for everyone to potty and a place to dispose of that. To quote Dr. Steve Brule, "It's for your health!"

I hope those of you in the direct path of the hurricane will be OK. I'm just on the fringes of the rain and whatnot here in High Point, NC. So not much other than some wind and rain. Not too bad.

FEMA finally came by. I got a big, fat check from the government to rebuild. Sweet.

I am so NOT used to these intensities...We have sangria, sun and tapas in Barcelona.. what the hell are all these weather inclemencies...??

Seriously, if it was just the two of us I wouldn't worry, but with a newborn I am a little scared. I hope everything will be okay...

Aren't you along the end of 78 BA?
That shouldn't be that bad ... unless I have you confused and you are closer to exit 7.
                            Then that would suck.

I had to fly out a day early to start my trip. Before I left I set up our camping gear and made sure there were plenty of batteries and flashlights around.

I hope all of you in NJ/NY area fared well.
