Man boards plane without ticket, screening.

    http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/30/travel...html?hpt=hp_t3

I know we've seen a few threads on the old TSA. Was wondering if anyone has any opinions on this one? No biggy, or big f-up?

It's a good thing the procedures were followed by the crew and the ground personnel.

F-up in the way the video should have been on the door to identify the person. The planes should not have been boarded.

Plus for the check by the flight attendant and the check afterward. That part works at least.

Yeah, good on the crew. The only thing I think about is if this guy got there without being screened and had an intention besides just getting on a plane, something worse could have happened (if he had some sort of weapon or whatnot). Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

He set off an alarm as soon as he went thru the fire door....

But he still got on the plane. If he were armed, it could have gotten quite complicated.

IMO just another example that the TSAs BS rules don't really do much good...

So a gunman in a crowded plane is more dangerous then a gunman somewhere else? It also wasn't a jumbo jet but something alot smaller.

Now that's a screw up! Could have been much worse though.

I have thought a bit more about this and although I'm not a fan of TSA I doubt there is anything to do about this kind of thing. You must have some sort of fire doors available and it would be impossible to have all of them exit in a secure area. It is also possible for people to sneak in under a fence in the night and get to the same spots.

I'm not familiar with this airport but I suspect that they were boarding this 30 seat turbo prop by stairs which allowed the guy to blend in with the people boarding the flight. If the flight were using a jet bridge then he would have had a hard time getting on the plane because a jet bridge is secure. The question I have is the guy blended int without any of the passengers or gate agents noticing.

                      Hes a ninja!!!!

Sounds like a giant muck up to me they should have cameras on the emergency exits. It wouldnt be that hard to add them and have security be able to check them when needed.
