Global internet slows after 'biggest attack in history'

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21954636

This part made my jaw drop a little. He added: "These attacks are peaking at 300 gb/s (gigabits per second)."Normally when there are attacks against major banks, we're talking about 50 gb/s."

The spokesman said, "But we're up - they haven't been able to knock us down. Our engineers are doing an immense job in keeping it up - this sort of attack would take down pretty much anything else."

Except, they are subscribing to CloudFlare's services. Once the check was written, the Spamhaus engineers didn't have any exceptional challenges. CloudFlare solved the problem. I'm sure the engineers did fine work, but probably no better than any other crew.

The humor is that the attackers were still slamming Spamhaus even though CloudFlare has demonstrated complete protection. It's like bouncing a zillion laser pointers off a death star shield. Ineffective.
