    Disk boot failure

I started another thread in case this issue go lost in other one. For some reason I can't get the Windows DVD to start the Windows 7 DVD, I tried four different DVDs but they just wont boot. I WAS able to perform a BIOS flash with the same drive earlier. WTH? I thought the DVDs were bootable.

    They are bootable.

What Hardware do you have connected here Duke. Need to get a good picture of what we're working with.

Hope it isn't the new SSD to blame, make me say you should have got the Samsung.

    edit:

In what way do you mean bootable? As in auto load into Windows setup? Or boot Windows from the DVD?

I don't know what the hell is wrong with this thing. As of now I can't get windows to load from the DVD, I'm trying to install from scratch, again. I get the disk boot failure message...

I will tell the guy from Mushkin that I should have followed the advice form my friends and gone with Samsung.

Are you using one of the Intel sata ports? Is it detected in the BIOS?

What's happening is that you're completing the installation and then the BIOS is resetting the defaults. You need to set everything up in BIOS once and for all and save it. Then do it all over again or use Windows Repair function to reinstall the boot.mgr.

Or just change the boot order to the SSD. Make sure it is listed before the HDD under the drives to boot from.

I had the boot order all set. Now as far as resetting the other setting in the BIOS, what specifically do you mean? I load the defaults the set the boot order to CDROM first the Hard drive. If I unplug the two older drives then I get an option to bot into two different Window7 installations if the SSD if first I get that error DKSMGR missing. If I boot straight tot eh CDROM I get the non systems disk error.

Never mind I FIXED IT! My CD ROM is not listed under CDROM Its under its model number, which I recognized after looking for drivers for it. Runnig the repair tool now!

                  Thanks Everyone.

One question, I don't see that partition on the new drive, is it suppose to be there?

I'd start from scratch if I were you Duke. Just plug in the SSD and Optical drive and load a fresh copy of Windows onto it.

Yikes, I just spent a bunch of time loading everything again. Even got a decent OC going with the new memory.

Considering your temps and voltages used I wouldn't call it a good overclock lol.

Q: Why do you need two installs of Win7?

I didn't intend for two to end up that way, it just defaulted to that when I installed form windows. I should have done a bit more homework first.
