    RAID Mirrored on WHS 2011

For my business I run a WHS 2011 little server box.

How do I do RAID 1 (Mirroring) array?? Can I do that?? Does the MB/BIOS need to support this?

It suddenly dawned on me this may be a very good idea to help protect us from Drive failure.

I have my WHS (running WHS v1 aka Server 2003) with an external HDD enclosure, a MediaSonic Dual Bay eSATA box. It will 'back up' your shared folders in WHS, or actually ANY content on the WHS that you want to have a copy of that is accessible if the main WHS storage pool would happen to crap out on you. Just hook up the external enclosure to another PC (one with eSATA support for fastest speeds, or just good old USB 2.0 in a pinch) and gain access to the folders/files that were essentially a back up of the backup.

For an upgraded version of the Dual box, you may want to check out the ProBox 4 offering eSATA and USB 3.0 and offering four drive bays instead of my two.
