Keep an eye on this thread. They seem to be finding new ideas all the time. However it appears that the people that are still no able to play because of this error might have to wait for the next patch. Whenever that might be.

And that's another problem that can be caused by fixing the previous one. If you read the post i made above with the link you'll find you're not the only one.

Haven't checked that link since so another fix might be out now.

Vista or XP? I presume Vista. Hope you get it sorted Trimar. A game without Trimar is just weird.

It worked for me in Windows XP

In Control panel ---> System ---> Hardware ---> Device Manager disable
              Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.

              This worked for me perfectly.

                        same issue, almost

I have windows xp pro 64 bit and there isn't the same "sound" info there under control panel, so how do I get the proper settings? Any ideas? Also I use headset as my speakers so I don't bother anyone, therefore there are no "speakers" to speak of.

?Error during initialization: Unhandled exception caught"

I have had the same problems but none of the suggest fixes worked for me. I did try changing the active file in the

                            C:\users\profilename\appdata\local\activision\CoDW aW\players\profiles\

I opened it using a text editor like wordpad and changed the active name to one of the accounts listed as in use by the error message page. then deleted all other profiles in the folder apart from the active one and it has worked. Am posting on here as i got the idea from apache and the post he put up about the profile location. Hope this helps for others

                            Thanks!!!
