3 year old Adolf Hitler Campbell denied birthday cake in NJ

Little 'Adolf Hitler' Denied Birthday Cake at New Jersey Grocery Store

    Wednesday, December 17, 2008

EASTON, Pa. ? The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child's full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance.

Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the nearby ShopRite, but also with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article about the cake.

Heath Campbell, who is 35, said in an interview Tuesday that people should look forward, not back, and accept change.

"They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what [Hitler] did," he said.

After ShopRite refused the request for the cake as inappropriate, the Campbells got a cake decorated at a Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania, Deborah Campbell said.

About 12 people attended the birthday party on Sunday, according to Heath Campbell.

The Campbells' other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April.

Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because "no one else in the world would have that name."

Campbell said his ancestors are German and that he has lived all his life in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, which is across the Delaware River from Easton.

And honestly....you look at the siblings names and wonder just what the ***** is wrong with that couple. I don't know what's worse, the father who picked the names or the mother who let him do it.

If they'd have asked for a cake that read Adolf Campbell we wouldn't be reading about this at all, seems to me that the parents just want everyone to know their views, sad.

Don't worry, when he grows up he can get his name changed from Adolph Hitler Campbell to Adolph Hitler Jones. That way he can avoid the embarrassment of being associated with a bad name like that.

Personally I dont see much wrong with the name. Sure he has the same name as a mass murderer but as the family said its not like he will grow up to be like Hitler. A name is just a name.

Hmm let's look at this a bit. One way to look at is why on earth would you name your kids like that. Well to show your viewpoints has been addressed and that is the reason most people will see when they look at it. Most likely that is correct. Another reason could be the parents want attention and by naming their kids these oddball names, they are knowingly gaining attenion for at least 18 years in future civil lawsuits they can file for monetary gain. Both reasons are viable. Let's look at reason one, to show your viewpoints reason. Is a name really that bad? In this case we are going to say it is, because it is the name of Hitler, and they are using it to show their Aryan views.

Now, we have another name tha one individual changed when he was 19 to show his viewpoints. This person was named Barry Osetta Obama, then changed it to Barack Hussein Obama, when he was a practicing Muslim and never bothered changing it back.

So what do we have here, is a name just a name, or is it just a name.

Yeah, the Hitler part is much, but would you be so conscious of it if Adolf were a family name?

                    Curious question really.

Parents who name their names like that, and expect everyone to treat them normally, need a head adjustment and do not understand a thing about society.

I’m all for naming your kids what you want, but understand the repercussions if you do. Humans are faulty creatures. We cling onto the past. So asking humans to change their nature because you want to have your kids named Hitler, Aryan Nation and other things like that is ludicrous.

I like Cains Lair Dotcom. So, who is going to change their name? I vote either Tony or FD since they seem crazy enough to possibly do it. :P

I have no issues with the name Adolf. And god forbid you happen to be "cursed" with the last name of Hitler. But when you combine the 2 together it's like pointing out to the world that you're a biggot, an asshole, or you want attention. There's a lot of bad connotations that go along with that name, and if you give your kid that name, I don't care how good and kind they are, people are going to look at them differently.
