Corporate blocked Cain's Lair through the proxy Trying to find a good solution to bypass it, although they already blocked my web proxy as well. I'm sad
Work aint supposed to be fun, but im shure there are ways to get around the Block, let me and the other members know whats blocking it and what are you using because if you got a laptop with wifi or a satelite card im shure that is easily bypassed.
Ahhh that explains the reduction of posts in the automated welcome thread.
Can you get a wireless connection of you own. I subscribe to Boingo and it gives me connection in many of the airports as well as McDonalds and starbucks. So if you have one of these places aroun you could use that.
We sit away from anywhere else. It's a company proxy, have to use it to access the internet, it doesn't matter what browser. There's no "open" network drops, so that's no good. You can't use personal laptops during regular business hours, although 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts it's "allowable." I was using my own personal web proxy for a day before they blocked that out, and they have all the public ones I've tried blocked.
I'm thinking at this point in time it's kinda hopeless unless I can convince corporate to remove the block somehow....email going out to the help desk tomorrow to start inquiries
Heeheee, so I am apparently safe in having the upper hand over Troop in his drive to surpass my post count !!!
I'm glad I complained to your supervisor about your time spent posting on here ... glad they finally did something about it too !
Oh if a man tried to take his time on Earth and prove before he died what one man's life could be worth, well I wonder what would happen to this world ? - Harry Chapin
Meh, my supervisor doesn't care, he's stood there and watched me post stuff. It's probably corporate looking at net usage and then using a bot to search the meta tags and home page...which would flag Cain's Lair for gaming. Which annoys me, cause the forums for a large part don't involve gaming, even if there are gaming portions. Plus I can't play games at work anyway...that will get me busted by my supervisor....and possibly dragged in to the parking lot and beaten, he's a former Marine.

Work sucks? Be glad you have a job, man.
Just a fair warning....now is not the time to take this kind of thing lightly, esp with our recession and all that, EVEN if your supervisor doesn't care. You better treat your job like GOLD.
Auditors come in...and when layoffs are coming around, the first people they'll eliminate are people who've been messin' around on the internet a little too long.
Yes, this kind of thing HAS happened, they fire people they find out that have been messin' around on the net.
What's really irksome is that you're attempting to circumvent this at work? You sure that's not grounds for termination?
I was beating the proxy with my web proxy, but they're pretty good at finding them
Looks like they will be keeping a paper trail on ya too, just fair warning.
Mostly playing good ol CoD BO6 on the PS5 (old habits die hard), I'll dabble into a little bit of Fallout 4. But I'm pretty much a weekend warrior, my...
