Some twisted game politics in Oklahoma

Proposed Oklahoma Tax Break Excludes M-Rated Games | GamePolitics

Short story is, game producers get tax breaks for creating only teen rated games, not m rated GTA style games.

There appears to be a double standard going on where under this law movies rated R would get the tax cuts when games would only qualify if they are rated teen or below.

There are already a couple articles out there about this, and some don't speak highly about Oklahoma. I'll be the first to admit this is just another of many attempts made by many states to get around the Constitution.

Just means that game producers will go other places where they don't have to deal with the idiocy. It's Oklahoma's problem, and hopefully they lose out on some major tax dollars.

        heh

Funny that the guy who's manipulating the taxes for ideological reasons is from the party that supposed to support smaller, less intrusive government...and lower taxes.

And yes, I know, the other party might try to restrict firearms, or tax other things. What I'm saying is that with a little attention, we should all be able to see their hypocrisy, on both sides...double standards, etc...and that freedom exists mostly in our minds.

I wouldn't call it censorship he is using a tax incentive that already exist for movies. It also says something about another law they passed that was shot down by the supreme court so there is probably more to this then just a tax break. I also wonder how many games are made in OK?

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
