Microsoft and security shouldnt be used in the same sentence... unless you're talking about the breach thereof.

If only the eagles were in the superbowl then my sunday would have been much more intense. But aside from the eagles not being there I hope the Pittsburgh wins

It looks more like a gimmick than anything.

Actually as long as it is stable the benefits could be quite tremendous.

As for your security comment Cobalt, there is a lot more to security than the OS and windows has not done a bad job at security. The tools are there as long as the locale IA people have the knowledge to use it in combination with all the others areas of security.

It's a gimmick. What I mean is it's a user interface who cares what it's running. Although I tend to agree with Cobalt.

I'd even go as far as saying the information could be just as easily processed with a mouse and keyboard.

Definitely the information could be processed with mouse and keyboard. The main thing is a commander of a C&C environment really gets excited when you tell him he can walk up to a platform, whether it be a table, planning desk, etc and manipulate real time data by touch instead of having to sit down or lean over to work with a mouse and keyboard.

Also very good point mapes it not the OS but the interface and the method and applications that can be used in this fashion.
The table has wireless built in and with a little mod can be enabled to read RFID if it's not already, providing the CINC the capability to lay his access card on the table for protecting certain information from non cleared individuals.

The point I'm trying to make is this is not a gimmick, it is already in IRAD labs for further expansion in capabilities and brain storming on applications. It's just the fact it's M$ that people start saying it's a gimmic. If this thing was made by Apple 50% of the people that say it's a gimmic would think it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
