    Unfortunately we will all end up getting this at some point. It stinks but it's going to happen eventually. Now I wonder if Illegal downloads will see an increase due to this.

            good luck enforcing the tax against the offshore people.

            when this muddle fluck affair fails, the state will have devised a purchasing system in partnership with the major credit providers and they will collect the tax themselves.

            I know payment systems very well, and you can't expect the businesses that do not reside in your state to comply because that isnt their role or problem.

            The other thing is that I could see businesses simply deciding not to sell to people in Wisconsin.

              If i understand this this will only be on downloads you pay for, so the companies will just have to get clever and work around the tax, or get a credit card charged to a different state(family member in florida or something).
