Anyone here have CSS without any modded files ?? need help

Are you talking about the entire folder at that location? Cause my cstrike folder is like 60mb. Not sure what exactly you're looking for here I guess.

Bar, if you still have the GFCs, Steam will rebuild that folder for you automatically.

You just have to make a backup of all the CStrike GFC files, then go into Steam and "delete local content". Then close steam, replace the GFC files and then restart steam and double click CS:S. It may have to download an update, but it will auto generate all those necessary files/folders over again.



If you DON'T have the GFC files, then I'm not sure how you run the game

side question on Steam and steam related games. is the "license" for the games retrieved from steam, such as HL & HL2, limited to 1 pc you own, or any pc's you own? i.e. can i install HL on my sons pc and on mine? if i acidently remove them, how do i get them back?

better yet, if i can't do the above, how do i get more than one copy of it if its tied to one account, and all i want to use is 1 account?

Your licensed games are tied to your Steam account. 1 game - 1 account. You can install steam and your content GFCs anywhere you want, but only a licensee can start them and only 1 at a time when connected online. I think you can have multiple instances of 1 account running at the same time, but they have to be in offline mode (don't quote me on that though ).

I need the entire Cstrike folder for CSS (yes it will be big). I have tried removing the entire game but it is saving my screw up someplace. I just need a copy of the entire cstrike folder from someone who doesn't have any modifications so I can over-write the entire file. I did have a backup but I dumped my zips folder about a week ago and my backup was in my zip folder so... I forgot about it.



@ darth a game is registered to an account. As long as you are login to that account you can play that game any place anytime (if it is installed). But you can't login into the same account on 2 different pcs at the same time.

Mine is unmodified but it is 302 mbs. I think most emails cap at 20 mbs. Do you have an FTP?

I shift deleted the entire game and deleted from steam and I am re-installing now.


I added some skins in and one did some changes I didn't want without asking me and I lost my back-up file so I got screwed...

I just finished re-installing and I got it back to a fresh start. What a pain it is going to be reloading all my old skins...


Thanks trooper.. it looks like I will be fine now. It took a while to delete all the files trying to make sure I didn't do anything that would affect another game. lol
