Very interesting tech. And I did use Vista, and read plenty of stuff when it came out....and it did suck. It's finally becoming a mature OS in the last couple of months, especially since SP1, but all the release issues did bad things to it's image. If I were building a new computer now I'd have no issues installing Vista instead of XP.
Beware that Windows 7 does not yet support most games
Why do you say that. Got any links I can read?

Uh, from what I understood, Windows 7 is basically supposed to be compatible with anything that will run on Vista, as it uses a lot of the same APIs, because MS doesn't want to make the same mistakes of XP to Vista transition. I could be wrong there, but that's what everything I've read has said.
A friend can no longer play any games since he loaded it and he is a real techy. I will ask him for some more info.
yes please. I'm especially curious because there is a big difference between driver and incompatibility issues.
Also, find out what the release and build number of the beta/RC he is using.

I have a friend who is having no problems using a windows 7 build as main os. he can't get his mic to work though....but games are fine.
My comment about people actually using it before coming to conclusions is becasue I used to work at an electronics store and 90% of general public who "hated" Vista had never even used it.
That is a very true statement Furry, I still hear a lot of them talk about Vista and they have never tried it. Vista got such a bum wrap it's not even funny.
Now, concerning the included virtual XP. This is NOT going to bring what some folks are hoping for. If it is in fact based on the Virtual PC type install of XP on the Windows 7 platform, I can say without a doubt, it will not be very good for playing hardware intensive games unless they did some serious coding magic and drastically improved the virtual drivers to somehow use directx to access the actual hardware on the machine.

People said the same thing about XP when it first came out.
