It seems the CHP no longer have California Highway Patrol emblazoned across the the back of they're cruisers any more....Almost passed a cop on my way home

Yeah....they've been going "low profile" lately. Many of them don't even have exterior lights anymore, perhaps because it gives them away too easily from a distance?
Worse yet, some CHiPs are driving Chevy Camaros and Dodge Chargers now......can't pick them out of a lineup like you can the Crown Vics
I have a problem with undercover traffic enforcement vehicles. The most visible police are the ones out there stopping speeders to fill their quotas. Put one in an undercover vehicle and A) They're not visible in case you need one for an emergency; B) Unless they actively have a vehicle pulled over, they're not the deterrent to speeding that a marked cruiser is. Of course, if less people were speeding, the city/county/state wouldn't make as much ticket revenue, and money always trumps safety concerns.
When I worked for a law enforcement agency, I found this pretty funny: The traffic cops that everyone loves to hate? Well, even the other cops hate them.
hahaha. nothing new. in GR, they actually pulled some of the cars from the auction, and cops drive around in those. the redid the engine, etc, but not the body. we actually have a late 80's model rust bucket ford festiva here that just throws everyone for a loop.
Best thing though, is watching the undercover camaro driver pull over an old lady for driving too slow. the look on her face when the unmarked pulled her over and some young kid got out to give her a ticket...
I seen a unmarked on the motorway (interstate) the other month, was a REAL expensive looking Mercedes, only reason i looked in the car was cos it was so fancy looking, looked in thru my mirrors on my way past, was 2 cops in the front of it lmao.
Yes i was going under the limit hard to break a speed limit in a traffic jam lmao
One i seen before that was an Opel Vectra estate, only noticed them cos they where sitting round a blind corner in a layby, watching the traffic.
They been driving the chargers here locally as well. Athens borough cops... Charger, 2 Ford explorers - Athens Township.. the new Chevy, trail blazer - Sayre cops Charger, Ford explorer, Crown vick - Waverly cops Ford exp 2 Crown vicks - South Waverly cops Crown vick and a Charger.
South Waverly has a trailer for a town hall and even they have a charger.
:P
But they got they gor really purity lights on dem.
A lot of departments also use vehicles confiscated in drug busts, usually the ones that are too flashy for real undercover work. Nothing like getting pulled over by an Escalade with 22" spinners.
When I staed my first wife, her father was head of the city/county drug squad. He drove a car with stolen plates on them.

Where do you put the Bayonet?

I am all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Lets start with typewriters.
