    Ground Loop Interference?

Anyone have experience with correcting ground loops in a home theater setup? I'm 95% sure my subwoofer feedback is due to a ground loop in my system, and I think it's caused by the cable feed. I'm looking for a good ground loop isolator, if anyone has suggestions.

If I don't find something at Home Depot or Radio Shack, I've got to go online, and I'd rather not pay upwards of $50 bucks and go through a return procedure if I can find some suggestions here.

You know what's really kind of cool about this? If I disconnect the Subwoofer from my receiver, the hum stops...but if I just TOUCH the connection on that cable, it starts back up. I contribute as a human conductor to the ground loop.

I wonder if some ferite donuts on the cable would help? If it's a 60 hz hum it might do the trick.

Sounds like you've at least isolated the problem. Lucky for me i have no ground loop issues on either of my HT setups. are the subwoofer power lead or signal cable crossing paths with each other or other speaker/ power leads on your setup?

Easy, get a power strip that includes Cable inputs and it will ground off the ground loop from the cable.

Does not even have to be a ring, the clip ons work just as good.
Can pick the clip ons for a $ or two, cheap but effective.

Just mind and put the ring/clip on the cable close as you can to the device thats receiving interference.

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!
