    b. A continent
    c. Both

    6) What country is also a continent

try and name at least 30 states in America

    9) Name 3 Great Lakes

    Answers:

    1) true

    2) 5

    3) Florida, Alabama, louisiana, Mississippi, texas

    4) Africa

    5) B

    6) Aussie

    7) Oregon (the reason I ask this question is some people online don't know Oregon is a state, they think its some Europe Country)

Look at L-Mo's answer, he got them all and I don't feel like typing them all up right now

    9) Superior, Huron, Erie, Michigan, Ontario

    10) Again, look at L-Mo's answer, he got them all and I don't feel like typing them all up (bars for the full name)

    11) This one hardly ANYONE knows... there are... ding ding ding... 54

(I've asked this question all day long to people, most say 50-60 or 20-30), but no one has gotten 54 exact on their first try.

    12) Asia, however some people say Turkey is in the Middle East, which can be considered to be in Europe. The answer they are looking for is Asia.

    13) True

(some people think it's a state in the USA)

I'm meeting with the person that asked me these questions again later in the day, I'll see if I can get some more questions, I find them to be fun

        What the heck. I'm up...

        1) True or False, you can enter Nevada from Oregon without entering any other state.
I believe about 1/2 of northern Nevada borders Oregon, but even if they weren't touching directly, you could always fly

2)How many states are connected to the Gulf of Mexico?
From E to W we have Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Lousiana and Texas, so that makes 5.

        3) What are they?
        See above..

        4) Sudan is in what continent
It's in Africa south of Egypt and east of Kenya. Chad and Lybia are there somewhere, but that's all I got

        5) Antartica is..
A continent, but a few countries have claimed various parts of it for research stations.

        6) What country is also a continent
Australia. My GF in high school was from Austria and often was confused as being from Australia. I found that very amusing.

        7) What state is North of California, and South of Washington
Ok that's two questions about Oregon now.

Cool try and name at least 30 states in America
I used to play "name the states in alphabetical order" with my wife while waiting in line at Busch Gardens...
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Colorado, Connecticut, Canada (51st state, j/k), North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon (yay!), Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming, New York.

Can't forget District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Man those M states took me awhile. Sheesh.

        9) Name the 3 Great Lakes
Lake Erie, Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan and Lake Ontario. Two of those 5 are mad at you.

        10) Name the first 13 colonies
From N to S (ishh) NH, MA, RI, CN, NY, NY, PA, DE, MA, VA, NC, SC, GA

        11) How many Countries are in Africa?
Ok this I'm officially getting wrong. I only know the northern few... um. wild guess.. 42.. seems like a number that knows what it's doing.

        12) with exception of Eygpt, What continent is the Middle East in?
        Asia

        13) True or False, Madagascar is an Island
        True

          7) What state is North of California, and South of Washington
Ok that's two questions about Oregon now.

The reason I ask this is, that most californians online that I've spoken to, don't know where Oregon is on the map, and also people from other states don't know that Oregon is a state. I get asked "oh so you're German?" well, I am german, but they thought that because they think Oregon is in Germany or something.

Btw, impressive being able to name all states alphabetically

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but i heard a while ago that 80% of US citizens didn't know where the UK was. That's a bit shocking really.

Not really. The average American is pretty much a dumbass. 70 or more percent can't find Canada, and that's a bit closer than the UK.

On the states, I don't know if they still teach this or not, but when I was in elementary school I learned the "state song," that set all 50 of them to music. It's the only way I can remember all of them. It's a good thing we haven't had a new one in almost 50 years; would be hard to slip into the song.

L_Mo--forgot about Guam and American Samoa for territories.

Our school system has been dumbed down to a ridiculous level. Wait ten years, and most American adults won't be able to tell you where the US is, let alone the UK.

makes you wonder how soon the end of the world's comin if the most powerful country in the world is dominated by people who say "I've heard of the Holocaust. It's where they cut down trees right?" (quoting something i saw on TV a few weeks back)
