    p90x

Dont know if anyone had posted about this yet... I havent been on the forums for a good while.

So i decided to start this and today, day 1 and it was a.... (well for lack of cursing because i love them words but cant use them here...) well sucked... but in a good way. I honestly thought i was going to puke about 45 minutes into it.. Now I havent always been this outa shape.. in college (3 years ago I know not long) I ran 3+ miles a day lifted 5 days a week and was about 185-190 lbs.
But sadly now after all that running and everything I got a good (paying) job where i sit on my behind all day and just watch product go by. 4 months after starting and stopping my running and lifting routine I gained about 50+ lbs and have been in a consistent struggle to get back into that life style ever since (and the loss of college discounts for gym memberships doesnt help either). But have managed to shave half that back off.
Im not completely lazy now (in my self defense lol), I walk 18 holes of golf atleast twice a week and another 9 atlease once more a week and I ride my bike to work and mountain bike, and snowboard.

So for the purpose of not making this seem like a random retarded post I was just wondering if anyone else had tried this out yet. Because I didnt believe I was in this bad of shape but the thing is freaking hard! or do I just suck haha.
Apparently my BF EA manager name is "AwesomeFK" If anyone knows how to change that let me know.

A year or so ago I did it for about 2 months. It was fun to do, but as with most things done at home, it gets repetitive.

The P90X is much better than the P90. I do like the way it is done, the video and angles are interesting. Not your standard straight on angle like most videos have.

I did mine with the bands, I didn't have a set of weights. It worked well enough.

I did this as part of a "get healthy" thing a few years ago. I weighed approx 230 lbs and after 6 months, I got down to about 173. Losing weight is 70% nutrition, 30% exercise. Getting in shape is way more exercise, but nutrition is a huge factor too.

I'm back up to about 190, which I am comfortable with. I don't do any P90X or anything similar, but I do cycle alot, which I find way more enjoyable than workout videos.

Its a great tool to get kick started, probably one of the funner ones I tried.

I do the p90x everyday minus sundays with friends at our school weight room. Its a great workout, although they seem to go overboard on the streching. Think your sore now try core synergysm or the yoga day. Yoga will have you sore for 2-3 days the first time you do it if you actualy try.
Been doing it for 5months starting weight 230lbs. weighed as low as 205 and am back up to 220lbs but now I actualy am muscle not fat(well maybe a little), and I have tone in my muscles everywhere but my abs.
BTW Tony is crazy jacked for how old he is. He is like 48/49 when he made p90x

That is so true. The guy is a machine. He does chin ups like he was slicing warm butter.

6 packs are boring, you can have a lot more fun with a keg! haha

i would just not rather use these videos. Ill stick to the old fashion way. i have lost 40 pounds in 2.5 months by just doing these things.

Eating right to start off with

                  and workouts.

                  Warmups:

                  Jumprope

                  Military Press

                  overhead tricep extensions
                  Chestpress(bench)
                  Bentover Rows
                  Squats

I tell ya what works for me... 10 pushups every hour i'm at work every day i'm at work.... so lets see... 8 hours at day at least... 5 days a week.... That's 400 pushups a week. Not too bad... I might up it to 15 pushups a hour though here in a week or so.

                      +1.
And if you stretch, do so after your workout. You should stretch and you get the most benefit after you are done working out. I do range of motion exercises before I start my main work out and stretch after I am done. Range of motion will help loosen and warm up your muscles. Stretching after the workout helps prevent muscle pulls. And muscles benefit more if they are warm and tired when stretching.

p90x is not as much for wait loss as it is for increasing strengh and muscular endurance. Also do it enough and you'll get some tone. Apache the need to strech is big but also right after a workout a 10-12oz. cup of milk(so much to get enough protein) or a pb and j sandwich(whole wheat, to get the protein), are also nessesary. Studies show people who eat protein and high carb foods right after a workout show over 50% increase over those who dont.

im not saying that doesnt work. i did that also. i lost 60 lbs goin into my senior year of HS for football running 3 miles a day and lifting. I carried that on thru college, but after graduating getting a normal job buying a house, cars, and getting yard work and all that shit ive lost motivation. thats what im hopping this will do for me. get me back into that workout mind set and back into exercising every day. I bike to work about daily, walk golf, and walk as much as possible when doing things at work and around the house, but have lost that lifting running workout mindset i use to have. plus with memberships for gyms being 500 bucks at the cheapest anymore its hard to afford that with all my other bills.

and trust me ive NEVER been one to try a workout video or anything like this. I usually see those infomercials and laugh, but something about this one cought me differently, and outa everyone i had talked to that had tried it said it was intense, and if you didnt slack it works great. so i thought id try. plus ive been a big fan of muscle confusion since i first lost that weight in HS. varying my workout running routines and things every few weeks.

Like I said im just trying to use this to get back into the lifestyle kind of a kick start to get off my lazy a**, and so far its no joke of a workout.

I know a few fellow pilots that use this system while traveling. They use the bands because they travel better the weights. They all swear by it and are in much better shape.
