Thanks Paceman. I can't believe they left it so long before informing us and no one has been sacked yet. Technically they could be prosecuted under the data protection act, whether either will happen waits to be seen. The government has to take some responsibility. They put so many unachievable targets on the various public bodies that they just flounder or hide the mistakes. I recently did some work for our immigration service and they were on a permanent rotation of going off work for 'work related stress'. A typical example was increasing their targets by 20% overnight towards the end of their reporting year so they were set to fail immediately.
Anyway, if I hear that any of my personal details, especially banking, fall into any wrong hands then the government will be receiving a letter from my legal advisors.
