    Bay Bridge sieismic retro fit

I don't know if you guys are familiar with the Bay Bridge here in the CA Bay Area. It's the eight busiest bridge in the USA. For the past couple of years they have been creating a new bridge in stages and now at Treasure Island (island in the middle of the bridge where a worlds fair was held) they are going to divert traffic for the next three years till the next stage. Anyways what they are doing is really cool. They have an excellent website up with videos and maps and stuff. It's pretty cool. Check it out at baybridgeinfo.org

Be sure to check out the flash site Bay Bridge 360 also Very cool stuff

I used that bridge in the 60's and again in the 80's.

Where do you put the Bayonet?

And the bridge used Apache that one hedonistic night in the 70s.

Wow, major work. I'm surprised with your budget crisis everyone's not having to use canoes or backstroke instead.

Wow, just watched a demolition of part of the bridge in 3 days with the lower section re-opened at the end of it. Now that is one heck of a demolition crew. They must have Irish ancestors

I was getting ready to watch the World Series Game when it hit. I called the company I worked for to see if the companies I was going to see would be open the next three days. They assured me they would. I called Delta to make sure aircraft would be able to land at San Francisco Airport. I got there and the companies were shut down for the earthquake. I got 6000 frequent flyer miles and pay for nothing.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
