I used to love that particular Hacker Pschorr (no, Phan, not that kind of hacker!), but, well, sometimes when one overdoes a love one gets a bit tired of them.

this is gonna be strange since a lot of us are in the US, including myself, but I enjoy a "warm" beer, like the Europeans. I quoted it because I was riding with a friend back from Santa Cruz, and he picked up some old guy that was hitchhiking(yeah, not a great idea, but it turned out OK), and he was a german tourist who was using hostels and walking/hitchhiking to get around for less. we started talking about beers and if/why they drink warm beer across the pond. He said it isnt really warm, just not as cold as they usually serve them here in the US. like, lightly chilled. and this was just some random old german hitchhiker, so dont quote me on European ways.
I really like them like that. It increases "drinkability" for me. The coors light or whatever that has the cans that turn blue when they are cold enough, that is too cold for me to give everyone a perspective. lol

Actually it all depend upon the beer. In the 40's and 50's the BIG breweries took all the flavor out of beer so it would sell to more people and chilling it provides stimulation to make up for this. Different beers need to be served at different temperatures. Here is simplified explanation from Wiki.

So it is actually a frekin yard of beer? Looks bigger in the second photo, but is very hard to tell proportions. The guy may be small?
Is there an actual measurement for those things? Ive seen stuff kinda like that in Vegas, but I believe they were mixed drinks, not brews.
Oh boy, that would make me SICK. A 40 does me in good because you want to drink it before it gets warm. I wonder how many ounces that thing is... Not so good for me.

I wish we could buy 40s in Florida. They don't sell them here because a 40 puts you over the legal driving limit. I didn't get to sip my first 40 until I visited Toronto two years ago.
