    Don't steal from undergrads :D

Police: College student kills intruder with sword - Yahoo! News

They should be giving him a medal, not contemplating charging him!

You bet your ass they still work. They're not bad for CQB either. The main thing to remember when fighting in constrained environments (i.e. a house) is no over head strikes. Do not ask me how I know.

I have a rack of various swords and bows in my bedroom. Invariably when I need to grab something my hand goes instantly to the short sword. Which incidentally is made by Salamander Armoury and looks similar to this (although it's not leaf bladed)

Actually check out Salamander Armoury's web page. This guy has been doing blades for ever and makes some pretty bad ass stuff. Including pattern welding....even pattern welding elevator cable truly awesome..

      Looks like this

Check out his other pattern welds here..

You can do an overhead cut with a Samurai Sword in a garage. You can ask me how I know.

It is where I practice. My wife won't let me practice Iaido and iaijutsu in the house.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
