    Guest Stat?

For the online users here, is that guest stat accurate?
I mean, this is just one instance, but I just noticed that after clicking on a new thread(an online user stat refresh) 5 guests signed off, and 1 member signed on.
1/5 of the guest at any given time could just be a member signing in?

Are afk members who are logged out but sitting on the home page counted as guests? Or do you have to be browsing the forums to be a guest?
I was looking at it and saw it do this, and now I am wondering about how many "guests" flow through here. I wonder how they come here? Google searches about games or from member advertisements on the games n such.

I believe how it works after some testing is. For each first time connection by a IP a client browser counts as a guest. When that user logs in it adds to that by adding a registered user. So for example if I open up I.E and firefox and login on both I count as four users. It till such a time as the anonymous user is prolly timed off.

As soon as you login you should not appear as a guest,
Guests are guests, and bots are listed by name.
Timeouts are 15mins, 1 guest browser will stay as 1 guest unless they have session cookies off.

Its about right, we get a lot of non member's visiting the forums, most come back daily.

Shame, they should sign up, they are missing out on joining in, and also a lot of the things you see that they dont.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
