    Pet Peeve on Facebook

It was a friends birthday today, and I wanted to wish her a Happy Bday

You know how Facebook have those APPS, wear apparently you can pick a bday picture like a picture of a balloon or something.

Turns outs, these idiots are like charging a dollar for you to post a picture of a birthday cake on their WALL LOL

They make you crack open the CC card and everything!

It's not limited just to facebook, to dating sites as well and other sites.

Virtual "pictures" you can send them....I think on a dating site, they charge you like 10 bucks for you to send them a PICTURE of a bouquet of flowers, not REAL flowers.....

Do companies think people are so "stuck" in the virtual world that they feel the need to treat it like the REAL world?

They will do it as long as there are people who send them the $$.

It's apparently pretty darn popular from articles I've read. People don't mind spending $20 a month to send stupid little stuff like that. Personally if I really want to do something with an image I'll upload it to photobucket, etc. and link to it. Don't forget, those dating sites, Facebook, etc. are mostly a commercial venture, the owners want to make money, not give you stuff for free.

You would be surprised how many actually do it.

I was shocked too when I saw it. Same scenario, went to send someone a birthday greeting and pop, there it was.... need money...

Can't people just go to sites like BLUE MOUNTAIN, and pay for their service? I can understand sites like that.

Plus there's more to offer on those sites.

But now they are charging 5 bucks for, "Send this woman a bouquet of roses"

I can just google a pic of roses and do link it , LOL

True, people will spend money on stupid crap like this....it's proof why our country is deep in debt. People spending money they DON'T have.

And it's all due to stupid crap like that they're buying. LOL

It's the thought that counts. Not the virtual pic.

And it would be just as satisfying.

LOL Duke! Yeah, I'd rather just send an ASCII rose for free or something:
---'-,-,---@ Combine a bunch of them together and you'd have a bouquet!
                          Ahhh...the power of cheese!

Not something I would ever pay for, but I could see someone not having the money to send some FTD flowers to their friend living in Thailand for a year, so instead of buying real flowers, they just spend $1 to send a virual bouquet.

I would personally send an email greeting card instead. I would think that if you go on google to find a pic of roses and send that, there is nothing that says cheapskate more.
real flower > facebook flowers > googled flowers

But yeah, like Duke said. If there is someone willing to pay, they will have it for sale.
[this is where my funky sig would go. But I don't have one.
So all you get is this crappy text]

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
