Yep the docs don't even test for it now. If you present with a high fever the just assume you have it.

+1 i used to eat hog meat when i was little my dad used to go hogging with a buddy of his, i loved eating it especally when my mom makes pigs in a blanket

I've had my kids into the Dr quit a few times this last month and it's funny because they check them for the flue every time. The lab tech comes in and asks questions like have you been out of the country, the local fair and a few others. I get a good chuckle. I don't think it's funny that people are getting sick from it but I think it's funny how everyone reacts.

Well that's...... stupid.

It is SOP. They test initially to confirm it is swine flu for a few thousand peeps then they take the stance that if it looks like swine flu then it is swine flu. The confirmation tests usually come back once you are over the worse of the symptoms anyway.

At my local hospital of all the people admitted and staff who allegedly had symptoms only 2 tests came back positive for the H1N1 strain of flu. Remember it is just flu, not to belittle flu, but currently the strain is a milder form of flu. It may mutate and become stronger but it may also become weaker.

Treat it as you would any other form of flu, if you are compromised with a pre-existing health condition call (do not attend) your medical provider for further advice.

On the brighter side if swine flu kicks off big I will make a killing working around the clock. Bring it on lil piggies.
