Canadian folk singer killed by coyotes

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Musi...led/index.html

This is quite unusual, and very sad. I've heard of rare cases in which coyotes will try to take a toddler, but never have I heard of them going after an adult. Truly sad that someone who apparently loves and promotes the outdoors should die in such a way.

I know that there are a lot of folks against firearms, but I can't help but think that if she'd had a pistol or something of the sort, and even just fired it into the air, this might not have happened...they probably would have ran off...or at least it couldn't have turned out any worse.

Hey I like firearms but, it's possible it might not have helped. One of the things they mentioned is possible disease like rabies.

This is why ARs should be allowed you could quickly dispatch the whole pack. This is a shame.

Yes, it's possible it might not have helped her, but any chance of improving the outcome that she hade would be worth it in my book.

Lol, Duke. I agree that an AR would have improved her odds considerably . But if that seems overkill, I would say that this incident at least shows there are uses for semi-auto (pistols or rifles) firearms with decent mag capacity.

Lol. I'd agree with you, but I'm peaceful by nature...except when I'm not.

Dont forget to bring your Bushmaster with you when you hike ladies! bear mace is soooo 21st century.

An old principle of mine, was a southern man, told me and some friends about a town in texas or somewhere down south, this was a few years ago he told us, and he exaggerated and lied a lot to tell fun stories, so bear with me please.

He said something along the lines of, everyone in this town owned and basically, carried a weapon on them. Because of this, this place had the lowest crime rate in the country, or close to it.

now, idk if he was lying to us or not, but it sure does make sense to me.
I dont think anyone that is fully sane would rob a place KNOWING that there is a firearm inside.

Having tried many cases I've given up on expensive ones. Not convinced they are significantly better than an inexpensive gel case for 1/10 the money....
