    Georgia Tech visit

For those that don't know me, I am a senior in high school and the college process is in full swing (well actually finished now for me)! This past weekend I visited Georgia Tech and stayed with a current student for a night, seeing what college life is like.

I attended a Comp Sci class Monday morning, and was actually able to follow what was going on (regular expressions in Java). I am looking to major in Comp Sci so I thought it was pretty cool. Georgia Tech is in my top 3 schools (along with Texas A&M and Purdue) and this trip definitely helped with my decision! I haven't been accepted yet but according to the numbers I should be accepted. I find out about that in 10 days!

So with that said, got any fellow Yellow Jackets in here? Or any Comp Sci majors?

I once spent a day milling about the GT campus waiting for a show in Atlanta to start. That's about as far as my GT experience goes.

I work right outside Atlanta, and a number of my fellow engineers graduated from GT. It is a good school, as long as you don't mind living 2 minutes from the projects. They also have a pretty good football team right now.

        For a change.
I live in Georgia, does that count?

I didn't really get a chance to see anything but the campus because we just took the train from the airport. It was very easy and convenient though!

Sounds like you've got your mind made up. Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Tails and I are both programming majors. We're also both in Alpharetta, GA (just north of Atlanta), so we're not too far from Tech, either. We both looked at Tech when we got out of High School, but neither of us ended up going.

              Let us know what happens.

Kind of off-topic, but hey, what the heck.

For you guys about to go to college, when you get there, don't screw it up. After 13 years of keeping your nose to the grindstone it's tempting to take some liberties with your first real breaths of freedom.

Sure, you can still have a great time. Do what you want, experiment with what you please, but stay responsible about it. And other than "certain things" I'm also referring to video games! At least from my experience that is.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
