Another planet with water discovered

The planet is covered with water, but too hot for life. I do think it's interesting as more of such planets and systems are found, as our technology grows. Another example of greater observatory powers is NASA's recent launch of an infrared satellite...I can't wait to see some photos from that! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34414195...science-space/

I was just about to say that. I immediately thought of creatures living in deep-sea volcanic vents. also, it seems to me like they are only looking for 'humanoid' type 'life'. or at least some form of 'animal'. anyone get a chance to see Planet 51? lol i love cartoons and that was a comical movie

This(above)could start a flurry of comments rand but all i have to say is there are the plants at the bottom of the ocean who dont live off oxegen they live off sulfur deposits. Just a thought to ponder.

ROFL, well I don't now how applicable this is to the subject, but plants, trees, etc do not use oxygen during photosynthesis they consume carbon dioxide, but the bonus is they do give off oxygen.

I was intrigued too by the prospect of our Yellowstone like bacteria, but found that they're pretty much dead after 212 F, so 400 F on just the surface would probably be effective at killing our known life forms.

That's interesting..."life will find a way". We have found that we had to update our definition of life on this planet so it should be interesting to see, if we ever make it that far out, how much further we would need to redefine "life". With our luck, we will design ships that can go and mine the water and bring it back to us...where is the fun in that? Any one up to designing a better ion propulsion rocket ship in the near future?
