Beavers can get huge. Here's a NG article and the pounds mentioned here is 60 which is about the average. I think I saw something somewhere about the latest ever caught was over 90.

The lake on our land is spring fed, and larger because of a beaver dam. The main beaver is about as big as an Irish setter, lol...he's at least 60 pounds.
