Netflix users will have to wait a month before getting new releases.

    Article Here

Smh at "This is fighting piracy" stance. And I just cancelled Netflix about 3 months ago. Glad I did.

Under pressure, Netflix just announced that it has incredibly consented to enter a deal with Warner Bros. that will essentially begin to kill its new release program under the premise of fighting piracy. Under the agreement, Netflix agrees to not offer new releases until 28 days after the DVD/Blu-Ray release goes on sale in stores.

Ok, if that's the way they want it. I'll go ahead and cancel now. Please pass the word and try to get people you know that use them to cancel them and specifically say it is due to this.

That's crazy. I cancelled my netflix abot 6 mos. ago. Just got to a point where I never really could find anythng else I wanted to rent after a couple of years of doing it... and the wait time for new releases was always too long.

Good news for Blockbuster. Now Netflix won't destroy them over the next year.

It was killing sales, or so the labels claim. What a load of crap. And they wonder why people pirate stuff.

              *big shock*

Give it a year and it will be delayed yet another month. Red Box is also caving to this request, so its clear that the MPAA want you to BUY it and not RENT it.

              I'm glad I don't watch many movies ...

I had two new releases in que WAY before they were in DVD, now they are on VERY LONG wait.

This confirms my suspicions and I will be cancelling my membership this afternoon. What a load of !@#$.

The Hangover is On Demand this month- why in the hell would I even use NetFlix if they cannot deliver new content.

BTW- I think the TimeWarner Agreement with Netflix strengthens TW, Comcast, and Fox's new sharing agreement and weakens the business profile of Netflix- a company that TW and other communications companies have struggled to compete with in the past.

Netflix is down .77 today, and I would sell them in the next 6 months if I owned em.

I am kinda surprised that blockbuster has not jumped all over this already.

Well that's kinda stupid since all those pirated movies are released about 3-4 weeks before retail.

That's a component to what I see. This is nothing more than Warner pushing to take away Netflix's legitimate revenue stream.

There isnt another company on the planet that can deliver a movie to your home faster than they can in a physical medium (DVD). Everything else that comes close is OnDemand, and because of the agreements with the publishers that create the DVD's they are mostly forced to wait anywhere from 30-90 days after release before providing the movie to their customers (includes ATT, Comcast, TW, and movie channels like HBO, Showtime, Etc.)

Once again, the customers are getting the shaft by the entertainment industry.

I often wonder if they really want people to get to the theatre after I add up these $.30 to $1 incremental deals. I think they make pretty stable revenue from the "at home" market, which is why they havent begun installing Large Format LCDs in theatres. After all, the reason I dont really hit the theatre anymore is because it just doesnt look or sound as good as my setup at home....

This is what I'm saying people cancel them if you use them and don't tolerate it. Screw the MPAA, Warner Bros and all of them. If everyone does not send them a strong message this is only going to get worse.

I should cancel Netflix. I started with it again last year for Blu-Rays but I find that I never get around to watching them.
